Plus, it uses less radiation than traditional x-rays. Dental radiographs allow us to take a look at what is happening below the gum-line. Here we can see the degree of bone involvement including bone loss or fractures, abscesses at the root tips, resorptive lesions and other pathology that we would not be able to see normally.
